DPM Directs Swift Implementation of Port Operation Reforms


Islamabad: A meeting to review infrastructural facilities at Karachi’s ports was held in Islamabad today with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair. The committee reviewed recent modernization efforts that have enhanced cargo movement and reduced transaction costs. Future improvements in port operations through advanced IT and engineering solutions were also discussed. Ishaq Dar directed urgent implementation of reforms leading to efficient and cost-effective port operations.



According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting was attended by the Minister for Maritime Affairs, Secretaries of Maritime, and senior officials from the Finance Ministry, as well as Chairmen of Karachi Port Trust and Port Qasim Authority.
