Conventional kilns being closed in Punjab from Nov 7: Buzdar
Provincial Disaster Management Authority has set up Smog Monitoring Cell in Lahore.
This was stated by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar while chairing a meeting to review the measures taken to deal with smog in the province.
He said conventional kilns are being closed across the province from 7th of next month while Zig Zag technology’s kilns will continue work.
He said Government and civil society partnership is essential to ensure smog eradication
He directed concerned authorities to ensure strict implementation of ban on burning tires in factories and residues of crops
Earlier, Chief Minister was briefed that in two days, 204 FIRs were registered, 11685 vehicles and 109 industries were challenged over smog producing.
