Petition against IHC’s judgment regarding PECA Act stands withdrawn: Info Minister

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken strict notice of the filing of petition in Supreme Court against the Islamabad High Court Judgment regarding PECA Act to seek restoration of section 20 of the Act.

In a tweet on Saturday, she said that this petition stands withdrawn immediately, as it is squarely against the government's stated policy and principle of standing for and ensuring freedom of expression.

Election reforms to be introduced with consensus: Javed Latif

Senior PML-N Leader and Federal Minister, Mian Javed Latif says the incumbent government intends to bring electoral reforms which would be acceptable for coming generations.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that election reforms would be introduced with consensus so that next general elections would be conducted in free, fair and transparent manner.

He said people are facing difficulties due to mismanagement and incompetency of previous government.

PTI leadership misleading people about ouster from power: Kaira

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Qamar Zaman Kaira says Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership is misleading people about their ouster from the power.

Talking to PTV, he said despite the negating of national security institutions that no conspiracy was hatched against the PTI government but its leadership is not ready to accept it at any cost.

Qamar Zaman Kaira said Imran Khan is alleging baseless allegations against his political opponents.

He said that present government would try to take on-board the PTI about introducing electoral reforms.
