Islamabad: At least twelve people were martyred and twenty-seven others injured in a suicide blast outside the Islamabad Courts in G-11 Sector today. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who visited the blast site shortly after the incident, confirmed the casualties and said emergency operations were underway to assist the injured.
According to Radio Pakistan, the attacker initially planned to enter the court complex but was unable to do so due to strict security checks. The attacker then targeted a police vehicle upon its arrival. The Interior Minister stated that efforts were underway to identify the attacker, with promises of results within hours.
The Minister also referenced the previous day’s incident in Wana, where a vehicle-borne suicide attacker carried out a blast at the entry point of Cadet College. He revealed that the attacker in Wana has been identified as an Afghan national and accused Afghanistan of being directly involved in the incident, citing communication between the perpetrators and individuals in Afghanistan.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that Pakistan has provided complete proof of the attacks and the perpetrators to Afghan authorities, but no measures have been taken by Afghanistan. He asserted that Pakistan is justified in taking appropriate measures to stop the attacks by any means necessary.
