Vacations of traffic cops cancelled for special duties in last Ashra
Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has chalked out a comprehensive plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic during last Ashra of Ramadan when shopping activities will be at peak in markets and shopping centres of the city and also for religious congregations on the eve of Jumat ul Wida.
These traffic arrangements were finalized in a meeting held here Monday presided by SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood and also attended among others by SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Niaz, DSP Ms. Khadeeja, DSP Umer Hyat, DSP Abdul Rauf, heads of various zones and ITP’s sections.
The SSP (Traffic) cancelled the vacations of traffic cops and said ITP personnel has been assigned extra duties in markets, shopping areas, mosques and public parks to maintain smooth flow of traffic and facility of general public. Dr. Moeen Masood said that extra deployment will be made at Super Jinnah market, Blue area, Karachi Company, F-10, Peshawar Mor, Aabpara and F-8.
He said ITP had also deployed special mobile squads to control traffic on the eve Jumat ul Wida and Mehfil-e-Sabeena in Faisal Mosque.
The SSP (Traffic) appealed that citizens should behave like civilized manner and not to cause hindrances in traffic flow and should maintain road discipline.
He said that additional strength will be deployed at busy places to ensure convenience to motorists and avoid rush in markets. The SSP (Traffic) said that strict accountability system would be ensured and those performing well would be encouraged and disciplinary action to be taken against those involved in dereliction of duties.
